Our Work in Cultural Institutions

Strategy and creative, working as one, for the institutions that give a place its character.
Cultural campaigns ask donors to sustain something a community cannot replace, from a museum’s collection to a stage that shapes a city’s identity. Foster Avenue develops the strategy and the communications as one, so an institution’s artistic vision and its financial need make the same case rather than competing for attention. The work here spans museums, performing arts organizations, and other cultural institutions.

Vibrant Canterbury Shaker Village: The Campaign for a National Treasure

One of America’s most complete Shaker communities, yet only four of 30 buildings remained open to visitors. Canterbury needed more than beautiful materials. It needed a strategic rationale powerful enough to transform regional loyalty into national obligation.

Positioning Public Space as Civic Inheritance

Stewarding What Belongs to Everyone

When Oglebay Foundation launched its first-ever comprehensive campaign, they faced an unexpected challenge: their century of self-sufficiency had convinced the community the park didn’t need philanthropic support at all.

Foster Avenue reframed the narrative—transforming Oglebay from a beloved amenity into a living endowment that builds family, community, commerce, and pride. The “Forever Yours” theme gave donors language to understand why operations sustain, but only philanthropy propels.
